We collect only what we need to run competitions, take payment, deliver prizes and keep you updated. We never sell your data. You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or unsubscribe from marketing, at any time by emailing support@wgtcompetitions.com.
This site, wgtcompetitions.com, is operated by WGTCOMPETITIONS LIMITED ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17348099, with registered office at Elmhurst 98–106 High Road, London, England, E18 2QH. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at support@wgtcompetitions.com. We are the "data controller" for the personal data described here.
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect: your name, email address, postal address, phone number and date of birth; your account login details; your competition entries and ticket numbers; payment information (processed securely by our payment providers — we do not store full card numbers); your messages to us; and technical data such as your IP address, device and browser type, and how you use the site (via cookies — see our Cookie Policy).
We use your data to: administer your entries and account; verify your age and identity (a legal requirement for prize competitions); take payment and prevent fraud; contact you about entries, draws and prizes; provide customer support; run the free postal entry route; comply with our legal obligations; and — only if you have opted in — send you marketing about future competitions.
Our lawful bases are: performance of a contract (running competitions you enter), legal obligation (age verification, tax and record-keeping), legitimate interests (fraud prevention, improving the site), and consent (marketing and non-essential cookies).
We share data only with parties who help us run the business, under contract and only as needed: payment processors (e.g. WooPayments/Stripe, PayPal), our website host, email and delivery providers, and professional advisers. We may disclose data where required by law or to protect our legal rights. We never sell your personal data. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as UK/EU approved contractual clauses) are in place.
If you win, we may publish your first name and county as proof the prize was awarded. Any further publicity (photos, video, interviews) is optional and only with your consent.
We keep entry, payment and account records for as long as you hold an account and for up to 6 years afterwards to meet tax, accounting and legal requirements. Marketing preferences are kept until you unsubscribe. Data no longer needed is securely deleted.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, to object to certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email support@wgtcompetitions.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
We use SSL encryption and reputable, PCI-compliant payment processors, and we limit access to your data to those who need it. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
This site is strictly for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the "last updated" date above.
